yes, yes, yes, please encourage this mother to give breastmilk to the sick
child in whatever form she will take it (she might be surprised that the child
will take it "straight"). our milk bank has many stories of older very ill
children and adults (what about the liver transplant patients?) that improve
dramatically with donor milk, even a small maintenance dose. no, freezing does
not eliminate all good properties, a miraculous feature of bmilk similar to it
's not being damaged by going through the digestive tract.
just call me the snake oil salesperson. cures everything except probably male
pattern baldness (more's the pity). (just think how valuable breastmilk would
suddenly be if men thought it would grow HAIR on their heads.)
