Congratulations Lisa!

Now, I encourage you (and all other Lactnetters who are watching their
local media re: breastfeeding) to follow-up.  You could suggest they do
another story for World Breastfeeding Week, August 1-7 (or if your area
celebrates the equivalent at another time).  Remember, the 1998 theme is
"Breastfeeding: The Best Investment."  You could use this as a
selling-point for another story, just a different angle.  If you get
them to agree to this story NOW, you have enough time to do your
homework and get data/figures to support a story!

Here are some ideas:
-- For WIC or other government feeding programs:  The amount of money
programs save on purchase of artificial baby milks and possibly weaning
foods.

-- For government health care programs: The amount of money they save on
medical care

-- For families: The amount of money they save on purchases of
breastmilk substitutes, medical care, transportation, lost wages, etc.

-- For businesses: Benefits of supporting worksite breastfeeding (for
employees as well as customers).

You may have other topics that fit your locale, in addition to the
above.
