Now, I know that we have talked a lot about green stools, and the simplest,
if most profound, suggestion is to wear dark glasses if one is bothered
with the color.
But I want some opinions here. There's green, and there's green. Do some
of you have a sense of what shade of green means fore-milk overload and
what shade means insufficient intake? Or is it all dependent on the number
of wet diapers and baby's disposition?
A baby I am working with (2 weeks) has had only green stools all along. I
began working with them yesterday. Weight check at docs was up to birth
weight. Baby had 7 wet diapers in the last 24 hours and several green
stools, some sizable. Baby is gassy and mom is, reluctantly, eliminating
dairy and has eliminated her vitamin with iron.
Mother has had sore nipples since the beginning, except for the time I was
there yesterday. One nipple is so damaged that she is pumping that side.
She says baby wants to feed "all of the time", and yet, with closer look at
record he has gone 2 1/2 hours several times.
Unfortunately, when I suggested another visit, she wanted to know what I
would do, and was unsatisfied that it was worth the cost of a follow-up
visit. She wanted me to tell her over the phone what I would do and she
would do it.
Well, this is beside the point. What I want to know is what are your
opinions on the color: tints, shades and hues.
