If a child is truly lactose intolerant, then soy formula *will* help.
But what we are frequently seeing in breastfed babies is babies who are
"lactose intolerant" because the mothers are feeding in such a way that
the baby gets mostly low fat milk. They are *not* lactose intolerant.
Milk allergy is sensitivity to the *protein* in the milk and has nothing
to do with lactose.
