Dear Lactnetters,
Does anyone have references (other than the Dec 97 JHL article) that
address the necessityof wearing gloves while doing lactation consults?
I called the CDC this morning and spoke with one of their infection
control folks, who was pretty much equivocal. Since my work setting is
not in a hospital, we have to present this to Risk Management Dept (they
get to decide) and I'd like to have as much info as possible before
contacting them. Standard Precautions was written with the hospital
setting in mind, but can apply to any setting, according to the guy I
talked with @ CDC. Thanks for your help,
