The latest information that I have read and have begun to tell my
patients who don't have the money to buy lice shampoos is to put
vaseline on the entire head of hair.  Then cover with a shower cap
through the night while the child sleeps.  In the morning, wash out, &
all the lice are dead of suffication!  The only problem with this is
that it takes 1 week to get rid of the greasy vaseline!  This advice
came from one of the top dermatologists at the University of Miami.
