I am giving a talk at the 9th grade family life class about (what else?) breastfeeding. I have accumulated some ideas from previous posts and would appreciate more suggestions. Teens are not the easiest audience. I did not think I needed to talk about the mechanics, but rather the cost of not breastfeeding, actual cost of formula vs. breast, perhaps formula company tactics, aap recommendations, cultural attitudes about bf (thought I could pass around both Redbook covers as an example) benefits of bf, maybe list of famous people who have bf. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. I'll have 30-45 minutes. This class is using that silly baby doll that is supposed to help prevent teen pregnancy (as if it were that simple!) Thanks, Patty in S. Lake Tahoe, where it is still snowing! [log in to unmask]
