Dear Helen, sorry - SNJ is southern New Jersey, USA (as opposed to old
Jersey, off the English coast.) OTC is over-the-counter as in medicines,
CNM certified nurse midwife, HMO, health management organization (a big
PIA, pain in the A--) for those of us here in US. They are pencil pushers
who decide who gets what medical care and we're not used to it. MILC, i
believe is a lactation consultant assoc in the Chicago area. MALC is
Michigan Association of LCs. We are LaCTo (lactation consultants together)
in SNJ.
APL area professinal liaison ( a state LLL or regional position), HCP -
health care provider (Dr, nurse, CNM, PNP -pediatric nurse practitioner, LC
etc.) I haven't got a clue what JODM is! Just ask anytime. Sometimes our
minds are faster than our fingers and we do get into initials and acronyms
without thinking about the wide-ranging effects. Sincerely, Pat in SNJ,
USA
