The ones who survive without colostrum live in cultural conditions where
there are immunizations, antibiotics, clean water, sewer systems, and little
contact with dirt or non-human animals (humans *are* animals, of course).
Babies who live in more "natural" conditions for humans, where there are no
antibiotics, no immunizations, the chance of contaminated water, no sewer
systems, and close contact with dirt and non-human animals do *not* survive
if they are not breastfed.
