Yesterday I saw a postpartum mom with Crohns who was asking me about her
meds and breastfeeding; according to Dr. Hale's book they were a little
iffy so we're going to double-check with the pediatrician. But when I saw
the post about using human milk for kids that had had NEC, and the thought
that maybe breastmilk would help people with Crohns and colitis, it got me
to thinking. Could this mom try drinking some of her own breastmilk (if
this theory were valid)? Or, since Crohns is an autoimmune disease, would
her own breastmilk not be helpful? Any opinions?
