Another point that may be taken into consideration is that mothers who
deliver in hospitals are generally treated as if they are ill. Hence the need
for the IVs,,hydration and rehydration. Mothers delivered at home ambulate ad
lib and without any restrictions.Thats my observation anyway,(as a British
trained Midwife).
