Chanita, LLL meetings may be held in a hospital, if the hosp admin agree
to it. Quoting from the 1989 Leaders Handbook (p. 69), "meetings may be
held in a public place if the Leader feels this would be best for her
Group." My own feeling runs both ways: I've run across nurses who give
LLL a "thumbs down" sign; I think they don't understand the functions and
guiding principles of LLL. Personally, although I took my oldest to a
meeting over 10 years ago in a private home, I had never heard of LLL
before her birth, and was fearful going into a stranger's home with my
new baby (sorry, I guess my fears were running on overtime). I do think
a hospital "legitimizes" LLL for new parents (kind of a seal of approval
from the hosp).
