We have a mother whose doctor prescribed posicor for her hyptertension and
told her to wean (what else); mother has history of hypertention; is very
engorged, would like to continue breastfeeding. Posicor is a new drug and
our local pharmacist had little information on it; it's given once a day in
50 or 100 mg doses; chemical name is mibefradil dihydrochloride; also used to
treat chest pain. Any information either of you have on the drug would be
appreciated. The LC working with the mother thinks that the doctor would be
open to suggestion for alternative medications. Thanks in advance for your
help/advice/suggestions/information. Keitha :)
