Hi Lactnetters,
Did anyone else hear Morning Edition this morning, at the end in their
"letters from listeners" section? I missed the first part of one comment, but
at the end they reiterated what had been said on NPR a couple of weeks ago:
"The AAP now recommends that infants be breastfed exclusively for 6 months,
and then fed a mixture of breastmilk and formula up to 12 months."
AAACCCKKK!!!
Before I shoot off a letter, though, what I need to know is, did they RETRACT
this statement (and just placed it poorly as the LAST thing said!), or did
they not "get" what their readers were correcting them on? They went straight
in to a correction about Dow Chemical and breast implants, which had nothing
to do with the bf guidelines (at least not directly ;-) ) Did anyone hear the
whole thing?
Sleepy minds want to know......
Carol, in St. Louis, where it's supposed to be 50 today!
