     Read the editorial of the February Diabetes Forecast, previously cited on
Lactnet, which not only is a wonderful, ringing endorsement of breastfeeding
as "the most cost-effective preventive measure" against diabetes, but cites
some recent studies linking early intro of cows' milk/lack of breastfeeding
not only with Type 1 but also Type 2.  There were some studies that showed no
link, but why choose those to "disprove" the ones that did and those that
continue to show a link?  It's interesting how, when it comes to
breastfeeding, there can be six studies showing some adverse effect of
artificial feeding, then one study comes out that fails to demonstrate that
effect and everyone says:  "See, that's now been disproven.  Whew!  We don't
have to change anything we're doing after all!"
