Hi to all
Does anyone have any information about the passing of anti-nuclear
antibodies through the breastmilk? The Mom has previously had symptoms of
Lupus (although not confirmed through medical testing) and Reynauds
although these symptoms are not present now. The baby in question is 3 1/2
years old and has elevated ANA. His symptoms include fatigue and recurring
illnesses and have become worse over the past year. This baby is nursing
every day along with his younger sibling who is 16 months old. The younger
sibling is a-symptomatic at this age.
Mom is wondering if she could have passed these ANA to her children.
I do not have a clue on this one...
