I'm really enjoying your varied discussions. I've been in Obstetric
postpartum care for 26 years and have never seen or heard of a patient
getting rubella after vaccination( ie due to it). However it is dangerous
to get rubella in pregnancy and by 6 months postpartum most of us have
little pregnancy prevention from lactation.
Don't you just hate it when you're right and someone else is intensely
wrong. I guess that's why the words "second opinion" and bring in those
medical journal articles comes to mind. If you are dealing with a primary
physician and no alternate, have the client complain to the insurance
provider too. I really don't agree with having the client just do her own
thing and not tell the physician; they'll never correct misinformation
then. And for LC's -take a deep breathe, say the mantra " breastfeeding is
the gold standard" and keep on educating.
