In private practice, my breastfeeding devices retail business and pump
depot was necessary. When I moved to Hattiesburg, seven years ago I
brought with me my pump depot and breastfeeding devices sales business. A
year later I was employed with the state department of health as the
coordinator of the breastfeeding program for a nine county district. I was
told very soon after .... you must not keep the business. Even though I
felt I could keep things separate the administrator did not want any
possible conflict of interest. I do not regret giving up this business.
My philosophy is ... be beyond reproach. Don't get into a situation that
it could ever be conceived that you might be doing something you shouldn't.
Breastfeeding advocates, for the most part, are looked upon as being a
little left of left or people are just not sure how to take us. I don't
want to even appear to give them any ammunition. Camille Foretich
