I worked with one mother in the hospital who had received radiation therapy on
one breast for a dx of cancer. She did NOT have a mastectomy. She was unable
to produce milk in the treated breast, but was able to nurse her infant for
several months from the unaffected breast without supplementation. I did not
work with her after she left the hospital, so I'm not sure exactly how soon
and why she started supplementing with abm.
