As usual, the "guides" are based on protecting someone in a
medicolegal sense. They are not based on the best interests of mother
and baby.

HCG is a large polypeptide.  As such, it is given by injection,
because it is destroyed in the stomach and not absorbed.  Therefore
even if the baby got it, it would not be absorbed. But the baby won't
get it because the thing is too big to get into the milk.  The Nurses
Drug Reference into the trash, please (along with the PDR).
