Help!

I've got a mom with a dramatic oversupply. It's been a problem with
all her kids, but her latest tops them all. Babe is now close to 6
weeks old without any amelioration in her supply. She has practiced
one-sided nursing from the get-go (and is now doing 2 to 3 feeds in a
row on one side). They are experts with the Australian hold, and the
baby is STILL drowning at the breast. She's been drinking 3-4 cups
of sage/mint tea for the past 3 weeks, with NO effect. She's been
doing a little pumping on the alternate breast to keep the fullness
tolerable. At my suggestion she's going to try breast shells to
promote leaking and relieve pressure (hopefully without the need for
any pumping), and she's also going to try wearing cabbage leaves 24
hours a day (altho I'm one of those people who believe cabbage
lessens edema, not milk supply--but we're grasping at straws here).
Babe is showing all the usual foremilk/hindmilk imbalance problems--
gassy, green stools--(which turn to a nice yellow by the 3rd feeding
on one side...at least we know she's occasionally getting some
hindmilk!). Mom is really compliant, and willing to try anything to
get this supply under control. Any more suggestions? TIA!
Terry
