Hi All,

In addition to my post two days ago, about glyco-genosis type 3 :

I wrote gluco genesis type 3 by mistake, it should be glyco-genosis type 3.
I didn't get any response yet but things are getting worse now.

Here's the situation:
BABY:
The baby is now 5 days old, birthweight 3030 gr. dropped to 2830 gr. when
released from hospital (within 24 hours, this was day 2). Now, day 5, the
child weighed 2720 gr. Yesterday she looked quite yellow (head, arms) but
today it was a lot LESS. She wets about 5 cloth diapers a day and has
(only?) one or two
yellowish bowel movements in 24 hours.
She's alert but cries a lot (almost continuously) during the day, except
for when she's at breast with mom, or having a bath. Evenings and nights
are much better.
She seems to 'be in need of' sucking a lot, sucks her fingers and anything
she can get her little hands on... Breastfeeding seems to go well, she
starts sucking enthousiastically, and you can see her changing
sucking-motion when the hindmilk comes and hear her swallow.
I can't find any symptoms of colic, fractured clavicula, hernia or other
things that can cause pain for her.
When baby is latched on, she sometimes drinks with her lips only a little
open (not that she's sucking the nipple, but...) I told the mother to
closely watch her open
WIDE before latching her on. Baby doesn't get supplements and show no signs
of
dehydration.

MUM:
38 years, primipara, induced delivery.
Mom has large, soft breasts, nipples perfectly protruding and graspable.
When I came on day 3, she had a crack on the center of her nipple, after
some adjustments nipple is healing and not painful anymore.
Breasts are 'hanging somewhat outwards' to her arms, latching works best in
footbal-hold. Breasts are veining and fuller but not really engorged, mom
feeds frequently over 9 times a day, for at least 20 min. She feels her
uterus contract almost every feed but the uterus is 'shrinking' only slowly
(now 2 fingers below navel, lochia smells a little). No retained placental
fragments, as far as we know.

FATHER:
Has Glyco genosis type 3. Furthermore he's worried about his litte girl not
getting enough milk, and what the reason is that she's crying so much
during the day.

I don't like scales, but I hope it will enlighten me somewhat tomorrow.....
I'm at my wit's end here, in my opinion there are no clear symptoms for
anything, but why is this little girl crying so much?? Is there possibly a
relation between
the glyco genosis and the crying, could she be getting *not enough* milk,
or am I missing something major here???
Please think with me, I really need your input here ASAP.
You can e-mail me privately or put it in the list, I'll be checking it
frequently.
Sorry this message got so long, but I'm really at my wit's end here.

A very big THANKS IN ADVANCE for responding!
