I love that advice with the exception that I would have it say something like,
"Seek out a prentatal bf class or LLL chapter before birth". My local
hospital has a wonderful monthly class, but alas those moms who complain they
weren't given enuf bedside help are ALWAYS the ones who didn't bother
attending a class etc. It is not a flaw, just a fact of life that even the
most efficient postpartum staff will not be able to *fully* educate every
single mom before discharge...just hopefully help with probs. Any move in the
direction of women taking responsibility for their prenatal education is a
good one IMO.
