There is no reason at all that a baby with "water on the brain" should
not be breastfeeding. Such babies are at risk for neurologic
problems. Given the wealth of data now available suggesting that
breastfed babies have better cognitive outcomes, any neurologist or
neurosurgeon who says that such a baby should *not* be breastfed needs
his reflex hammer fixed.
Less than perfect babies do not need breastfeeding and breastmilk
*less*--they need breastfeeding and breastmilk *more*.
