I tried to send this to Attie Sandink by private e-mail, but it wouldn't
go through. Anybody heard and updates on this research?....
In June 1997 I received a survey form from Stanford University on the
management of ankyloglossia or tongue-tie. They were gathering
information from lacatation consultants through ILCA, and from members
of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Academy of
Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery. They planned to use this
information to help direct studies that would begin in the near future.
Perhaps you could contact them for info on the surveys, as well as what
research is being done and/or planned. (Then please let us know on
Lactnet what they are doing.)
The letter was signed by two people:
Anna H. Messner, MD
Assistant Professor, Division of Otolaryngology
Stanford University Medical Center
Lucile Slater Packard Children's Hospital
M. Lauren Lalakea, MD
Clinical Assistant Professor, Division of Otolaryngology
Stanford University Medical Center
Santa Clara Valley Medical Center
The letterhead address:
Stanford University Medical Center
Stanford, CA 94305-5328
Good luck!
