No problem here, just thought some of you might be interested. I have
worked with breastfeeding women for fourteen years, the last 10 as an
IBCLC. One mother delivered at 32 weeks. The baby weighed 4lbs. 10 oz.
Using a hospital grade pump provided by WIC, she was pumping 64 oz. to 67
oz. of milk in 24 hrs. by the time the baby came home 5 weeks later. Her
instructions had been to initiate a let down with moist heat, breast
massage and then pump every 2-3 hours for 20 minutes with one little longer
stretch (no more than 5 hours) around the clock with a dual hygienikit.
She was very compliant!!!! It took about 4 weeks to wean her from the
pump. She is still nursing 1 year later. Wants to wean to get pregnant
again. Baby has become a one breast only nurser and mom is pretty
lopsided. The appearance bothers her some, too. Camille Foretich from
Mississippi, USA
