For me it's simple, in the last resort, it's the mother's decision. It's
her body, she has to do it. If she doesn't want to, don't force her.

In such a situation I would encourage the parents to talk to eachother.
If the father keeps being so resistant to listen to his wife's wishes I
would suspect that something else is going on.
