Cindy i see where you were coming from now. Sadly, in my neck of the woods, a
hospital that has one LC is rare, and those that do have them often have
thetype who bf a few months for nutrition only and who really are not up to
date with this info we all share so freely. Remember, most of the country is
rural. LLL leaders have to wholeheartedly agree with their organization's
mission statement, and are everywhere, while here lactation consultants are
truly rare. I am glad you have such an up to date hospital staff there;
however, let's not count on hospital policy in every or even most places to
support moms bf. We have one hospital here that encourages rooming in (I mean
the whole darn state, Cindy) and the rest put up a fight . Bottles are given
routinely and babies are kept 6 hrs avg before seeing mom.
Sad but true. This is Little Rock AR, too, not Possum Grape AR.
