>Marie,

I use the ground sage from the grocery and one mom sprinkled it on her
peanut butter sandwich--just a corner then ate the rest of the sandwich.
Another mom tried to stir it into Diet Coke (!!) but it wouldn't dissolve so
she tried it in V8 juice and it worked fine. Some moms nibble on parsley all
day.

I also recommend soaking in epsom salt solution, either in the bath (a lot
is needed, about 2 cups for a deep bath) or in a bowl into which she
submerges her breast. This draws out some of the milk but not too much and
is usually quite relieving.

I also recommend this treatment when mom is going to continue breastfeeding
but is painfully engorged. Often it loosens things up so that the pump will
drain the breast better.
