Babies do not choose bottle feeding. Someone chooses for them.
However, babies are interested in drinking. If they get good rapid,
satisfying flow from a bottle, they will prefer that over a breast
where the flow is slow, particularly in the first days. So we often
have a situation where a bottle is offered to a baby (first day),
coupled with a poor latch (so the baby does not get the milk well) and
you have a perfect setup for the baby preferring the bottle.
