My mother was born & raised in China (north China) of missionary parents. She
told me the same thing about Chinese mothers & babies. For urinating though,
the mother would hold the baby out away from her and make soft whistling sound
through her teeth at which cue, said baby would urinate. No diapers; and no
mother ever wet or defecated on.
