I would like to echo the suggestion pur forth by Marsha that attitude changes
are the most important for making NICUs baby friendly. Architectural
changes can be minimal and will become obvious when the attitudes
are in place.
  I think the idea of focus groups or a survey of past NICU parents is

a great idea. It is an experience on does not forget quickly so that
information collected a couple or even several years later will be
useful.
