Dr. Uvanas-Moberg said that it acts as a feedback inhibitor. It does not
cross the blood-brain barrier and thus its *presence* may inhibit the
spontaneous release of oxytocin.
In my words the body *thinks* it's already there so the release that travels
through the spine and on to receptors throughout the central nervous system,
does not occur. She stressed that the *natural* oxytocin is released from
the brain and travels through the cns and not just through the blood system.
