I'm not an expert on this topic, but wanted to share that there is an
interesting article in the most recent MOTHERING magazine (just received it
in the mail) on women in the US military who were supported by their
employers in their breastfeeding. In nearly all the examples, they went out
of their way to explain that their coworkers already knew them well and
that they were hard workers--implying that other women would use pumping as
an excuse to good off. (This may be my biased interpretation.) Still, it
supplies a few positive data points and could be useful to military
mothers. The author is an LLL Leader and a member of the reserves, I
think--can't find my magazine right now.
