Ms. O'Connor:
A colleague shared your wonderful piece in At the Office on 11/9/97
entitled "A mother's example of persistance teaches you to try, try,
try." The way you used breastfeeding in your analogy helped get the word
out that it is a very worthwhile endeavor, "the right thing to do." You
encouraged moms to "get good advice" from a mentor or role model. You
urged moms to stick with it even when early difficulties are encountered.
As a breastfeeding advocate, maternal-child nurse, lactation
consultant, and mother of 2 breastfed children, I thank you.
