Hi everyone,
I am back from vacation and family obligations so I finally have
a little time for Lactnet.
I would certainly look for a positioning problem with any pain
that is not in/around the breast. All too often positioning may seem OK
but upon closer inspection the mother is either hunched over or without
any support for the arm that is carrying the baby's weight. Try various
nursing positions, including some where the mom is on her back and the
baby face down. Be sure to use adequate support with bed pillows.
"Lactation Forms" by Marmet and Shell has the most comprehensive set of
photographs of various positions that I have seen.
Hope this helps.
