I know a mother with a 2yr old who is gradually weaning. He will nurse
infrequently and sporadically for days, then have a nursing marathon for
several days. The problem is that the mother develops headaches if the baby
suddenly stops nursing. She will go and wake him just enough to nurse and
the headache will vanish. Is this a hormonal reaction? Any ideas on how to
avoid these headaches? Will the headaches eventually stop occurring as the
baby weans totally?
