I have gotten curious, with the recent thread on breastfeeding vs. nursing as terms for the act:
What is it called in other languages than English? I am looking for cultural and lingual expressions, as opposed to familial expressions. (I think someone else is recollecting the personal terms).
So all of you out there in different countries and cultures that speak other than English, what do you call it. Please tell me both the phrase or word in your language, and how it translates, as closedly as possible, to English. I will post the results when a fair sampling comes in.
TIA, Chanita, San Francisco
