A mother of a 5 month old rented a pump from me to spend 3 weeks on an
80-foot research vessel away from her baby. She took back-up battery pack
and extra "emergency" parts, and strapped the pump in her bunk to stabilize
it in heavy seas... and came home to a baby who would latch but couldn't
nurse properly after so many bottles.
Her solution - her own idea - has been to pump to produce a let-down, then
put baby to breast to let him do his best. Sure enough, the baby is
improving...
