Internationally, over 13,000 birthing facilities have been awarded the
Baby-Friendly designation!  Information about the number of countries
involved in the process should be available from UNICEF, New York.

In the US, an additional ten hospitals and birthing centers were awarded
the Baby-Friendly designation during the spring and summer, bringing the US
total to eleven. An additional 60 birthing facilities actively engaged in
the process, and we are adding more daily to the list of those with
Certificates of Intent.
