Hi!
I have been NOMAIL for quite sometime and very quiet on this list when I was
getting mail. I heard that Paula posted my excerpt from the Self-Calmed Baby
to this list. She let me know that some were wanting more info on it. Below
you will find it. I thought you might like to hear his 9 steps to do when a
baby is crying, as well. Here they are:
1. Talk to the baby from across the room
2. Go over to the baby and rub the child's back.
3. Roll the baby over and talk from a closer range.
4. See if the baby will suck on his own hand or your finger.
5. Check to see if the baby needs to be changed.
6. Pick the baby and walk over to a chair.
7. Talk to the baby again.
8. Again try letting the baby suck on his hand or your finger.
9. Feed the baby.

Feel free to share this!
Okay, please note the title is:
The Self-Calmed Baby by William A.H. Sammons, M.D.
ISBN: 0-312-92468-2
Copyright 1989
Little, Brown Hardcover edition,Feb. 1989
St. Martin's Paperback edition, April 1991
Now, here comes the really good part. He founded an association called the
Red Tae Association. There is an 800 number. Donna (one of my LLL
co-Leaders) called it. It is still there. The number is: 800-422-6661.
There is a fax number: 508-877-6195. I was not successful finding the name
of the association on the internet via Yahoo, Excite, and a couple of others.
I haven't tried his name.
Feel free to distribute this. Please make sure that all the info is correct.
Someone posted it to another list that I am on and had the name of the book
all wrong.
Thanks and have fun!
