In the U.S. (I don't know about other countries) it's standard
practice for organizations and publications to rent out their mailing
lists. (In fact, for non-profit organizations, it's often a valuable
source of income). Check the inside front cover of LEAVEN for
directions on requesting LLLI not share your name. I'm sure other
organizations have similar procedures in place if you don't want your
name shared.
