I have had a query from a mum of a six-month-old. She has had painful
let-downs (MER) ever since she started breastfeeding. It only occurs at
let-down, and lasts about a minute or two. It is the same intensity on both
sides (ie not more or less on the one baby attached to). She had afterpains
in the early days, but the severity was nowhere near that felt in the
breasts. No history of breast surgery. This mum is getting to the point of
wanting to wean because of the pain - it seems to be getting worse if
anything.

Has anyone seen this? What could be causing it? Any ideas on how to help
this mum?
