I guess I don't understand what you mean by "belief system science" in
your post re weaning off the shield. The baby I spoke of was a baby who
couldn't sense where the nipple was in his mouth. He has trouble with a
bottle as well. His mother wanted to keep him at the breast and the
nipple shield allowed her to do that. Is he able to sense the nipple
now?
No. That's why he's using the shield. I do plan to look at your
article as well.
I don't appreciate being accused of being unethical in my decision to
try a shield with the mother. I will be hesitant to post again. I
thought this list was for us to help each other, not be accusatory.
I am the only LC in a small town. I don't have colleagues in the area
to bounce ideas off of. Lactnet has allowed me to do that and has given
me a wealth of information.
