A mom here has been plagued with mother/baby thrush that hasn't responded
to nystatin. She talked w/ her Nurse Practitioner (an IBCLC) about using
gentian violet and was strongly discouraged because of the NP's concerns
about the chemical's "purity", presumably when used in an infant's mouth.
Something about US standards for it not necessarily being the same as those
in other countries. I told her I'd ask lactnet.

Have anyone heard of this concern? Any merit to it?
