Hi all

I'm working (indirectly) with a mom whose nipples are numb and the numbness
is spreading.

Her baby is 3 weeks old, vaginal delivery 3 weeks early, had epidural and
pitocin and some problems getting the baby turned. BF has been going well,
baby gaining weight, lots of diapers (no frothy ones).

Some initial breast soreness but not bad and it went away after a few days.
Two weeks ago mom noticed that her nipples were numb. (They were not this
way before.) And in the last week or so the numbness is spreading so that
now her whole areola is numb. Says she feels nothing when she pinches the
nipple. No tingling, no unusual coloration, no breast surgery, no other
health problems. She wears a good fitting bra but not all the time.

She used Vitamin E on her nipples before delivery, but nothing now.

I checked all the references I had and unless it is buried and/or not in the
index, I couldn't find anything.

Any experience with this kind of situation? Ideas?

Thanks in advance!
