I am involved in becoming a Baby Friendly Hospital and need some
information to complete one of the steps required. The step concerning not
accepting free formula is one of the greatest obstacles for me right now.
My administrators are requesting some information from other hospitals that
are purchasing formula now. They want to know how much is paid for the
formula, how much if any is charged to the patient, and if so, is this part
of the "room" charge for all patients or do formula fed pts get charged
separately. Do insurance/Medicaid reimburse these charges? Any help will
be appreciated.
