Alesse....
The physicians are perscribing Alesse birth control pills for lactating
women. They have in the past insisted on Triphasil but know that it has an
affect on milk supply. Alesse is still a combination pill but I have been
told it has less estrogen. Has anyone had experience with this particular
birth control pill in lactating women?

Vermox ...
Question How long will it take to relactate or increase milk supply after
taking this medication if client continues to pump and breastfeed? Or is it
gone forever?
Client has been exclusively breastfeeding her 2 month old infant without
problems. Two weeks ago her older child was diagnosed with pin worms. The
MD treated entire family. The clients WIC lactation specialist gave
information to the mother from Dr. Hales book concerning Vermox. The mother
chose to take the med. She began supplementing with formula on the fourth
day. She is giving 2 -4 oz. of formula after each breastfeeding and pumps
for 15 - 20 min. with hospital grade electric pump with dual accessory kit.
Feeds are approx. every 3 hours. Baby has increased fussiness. The
grandmother told the client that she thought the baby was becoming nipple
confused and to just stop all bottles. Client was concerned that her milk
supply was too low. Mom tried just pumping one day( formula fed the baby)
(her idea to see how much milk she could get!!!)and got 6 ounces all day.

She states she wants to breastfeed but it is time to take the second dose of
Vermox.

Thank you for your help.
