Hi All,
A mom has twins born at 31 weeks. The boy was kept at the hospital
for 3 weeks, and the girl was kept for 4 weeks. She was 3lb. 1oz at
birth and is now 4lb.11oz. at 6 weeks. Both babies were bottled fed
in the NICU and had some nipple confusion according to mom, but she's
satisfied that they're feeding and gaining well now. Her concern is
that the girl chews on her nipple at the end of nursing sessions.
Mom doesn't mind being used as a pacifier, but doesn't like the
chewing. I observed the girl chewing on dad's little finger while
mom was nursing the boy. Dad confirmed that she bites pretty hard.
Neither baby really likes artificial pacifiers much. Any
suggestions?
