I've been skimming the recent posts on cup feeding, and the consensus seems
to be that cup feeding should not be taught over the phone. As a volunteer
LLLL who answers the city-wide Bf helpline in turn with others, I'm
wondering where that leaves me. Assume for the moment that I'm not
willing/able to do a volunteer home visit for every mom who calls about a
baby who is nipple-confused. (I have a young, busy family of my own which
makes it very difficult for me to do visits.) While baby is refusing the
breast, should I talk to her about alternative feeding methods over the
phone? Do I need to refer each one to a professional LC? Guidance or
opinions anyone? TIA
